Helen Dallamore-Hynd (Dance & MT)


Helen is one of Amanda's first roster of students who have been educated via AJSS, before moving on to study dance at the University of Roehampton. 

Helen returned to teach at AJSS after moving back to Kent with her family.  Helen currently works with the younger children and considers the growing of their skills as one of the most rewarding things about her job.

As well as teaching with AJSS, Helen held a position as the key dance specialist at Chattenden Primary School. Within this role, she assemble dance squads for country-wide competitions. Her most notable success was leading her school into first place for the Royal Opera House's National Nutcracker competition. 

She currently works with Kemsley Primary Academy and teaches Musical Theatre



Helena Sim

Helena joined AJSS at the age of 3 and has been a part of the school ever since.

She trained at Millennium Performing Arts, graduating with a First in BA(Hons) Musical Theatre in 2020.

She has performed around the country, both on stage and in short films.

Most recently she has been studying for a Master degree in Stage & Event Management at Royal Welsh College of Music and Theatre, and she is currently working as a freelancer in stage management.

Helena will be teaching dance and singing as a guest teacher at AJSS




​​Holly-Jane Crowter (Singing & MT)
Holly has been with AJSS since she was a baby and has grown up around the school.

At 16, Holly began four years of professional training, when she went to D&B Academy of Performing Arts and going on to train at The London School of Musical Theatre, graduating in 2017.

​Holly's  professional credits include Les Miserables in Concert, South Pacific the Musical, Jack & the Beanstalk, The Glenn Miller Story, Sleeping Beauty and Everything's West End & Broadway.

She was lead vocalist for the Cromer Pier Show in Summer 2022, and is currently lead vocalist at Potters Resort Five Lakes.



​​Amanda-Jane Crowter (Principal)

Amanda attended the Corona Academy Stage School in London, where she trained in all aspects of dance and had the opportunity to appear in the film Oliver. As a teenager, Amanda worked as a professional dancer both at home and abroad. She opened the school in 1981 at Parkwood Community Centre, and is a fully qualified teacher with the British Ballet Organisation. 

Amanda most enjoys producing Showtime and our other performances throughout the year.

Alongside running the school, she also teaches dance & drama at Gads Hill School as Head of Drama Productions for the Junior school.


Our Teachers



Beth Woodcock  (Singing and MT)
​Beth joined AJSS at 3 years old and has never truly 'left' since!

Most recently Beth has been teaching singing and musical theatre in the school, both in class and private lessons.

In 2016 she graduated from The Centre Performing Arts after 3 years of training and she gained a diploma in Musical Theatre and  her ISTD teaching qualifications.

​Beth's professional credits include Scaramouche in We Will Rock You for RCCL,  Spinotti in Bat Out of Hell International tour and West End and U/S Janet and Magenta in The Rocky Horror Picture Show International Tour



​​Chloe Hare (Singing & MT)
Chloe attended AJSS for a short time while in her teens.

Chloe went to D&B Academy of Performing Arts for her professional training in Musical Theatre.

Chloe has been performing around the world since graduating, most recently with Celebrity Cruises.

Chloe is joining our teaching staff covering a range of classes and taking private singing lessons



​​Kathryn Lucas (Dance & MT)
Kathryn joined AJSS at the age of 5 and trained with Amanda throughout the rest of her childhood.  She went on to complete her teacher training with the British Ballet Organisation, and was fortunate to return to teach within the school.

Her highlight is (and always has been) Showtime and she has been making magic with Amanda for many years.

Kathryn is also head choreographer, dance and drama teacher for a pantomime company and enjoys bringing the joy of dance and performing arts to children across primary schools in Kent & Medway, many of who have won awards and competitions in Musical Theatre




Tamsin Pearson (Dance)
Tamsin has been dancing since she was 10 years old, and is currently a dance performance student at LMA, London.  She recently performed at Wembley with Lenny Kravitz and is loving every second of her training.

She started teaching with Amanda in September last year, and is so grateful for being welcomed into the AJ family.

She will be staying with us as a guest teacher from time to time
